Doug and Jen Wedding

This was my third opportunity to practice some photography.  Jen asked me if I'd be the backup photographer.  She was supposed to get a professional via a friend of Doug's for free.  Well just before the wedding she asked my sister if I'd be the photographer for sure because she wasn't sure the other one was going to work out.  Well, when I got to the Mesa Temple the professional photographer was there.  Talk about feeling a little intimidated.  He told me to take the group shots and I could follow him around and take pictures with him.  Well...my sister and I had plans of getting certain poses by specific spots around the temple but kinda bowed out after a while of watching his professionalism and them being really tired by the end.  Sooooo we didn't have a picture of them together to print for their reception that night.  Oh well....we did the best we could.  Here are some of the favorites that I actually got that day!

I was using the free trial of Lightroom, which I love to edit some photos I took a while back.   I like how they turned out!  Much better than the fist take--to my anyway!

In the back of my mind I have been very intrigued with giving photography a try.  We purchased a digital SLR camera when we were finished with school.  Josh thought it would benefit his practice--come to find out there was one in his office.  I then kinda took over the camera. Ü

I experimented with my kids in the backyard and such.  Then my sister mentioned that Aaron and Tannis were finding photographers to be too pricey.  I timidly volunteered as long as they knew it was my first photo shoot ever.  Tannis' mom agreed and was willing to let me give it a go.  So, here are a few of my very first pics taken on my very first photo gig (hehe) at a Temple Wedding in Albuquerque, NM.  I loved the  way many of them turned out and was excited to give this another try sometime!  Thanks Aaron and Tannis!
